Measure 3-641: A Plan for Wilsonville’s Town Center

Measure 3-641 would use urban renewal to invest in streets, public spaces, infrastructure, and the vibrant, walkable Main Street Wilsonville residents have envisioned for years without adding a new tax.

The Problem

We All See the Problem

How many more years of vacant parking lots do we want?

Wilsonville started this conversation more than a decade ago. We’ve discussed, planned, and created a vision for what Town Center can become. We don’t need another decade of waiting. It’s time to roll up our sleeves and get to work.

The Details

We Can Do This!

Together, we can move beyond talking about what Town Center could be and start shaping what it will be.

Plazas, public spaces, and a food cart pod can give Wilsonville something residents have asked for for years: more places to meet friends, grab a bite, and spend time together.

Places to gather

New local streets and intersection improvements can create more ways to move through Town Center and relieve pressure on existing routes.

Better traffic flow

Better sidewalks, pedestrian connections, promenades and public spaces can turn Town Center into a place where people can comfortably walk, shop, eat and spend time.

A walkable Main Street

We need a long-term redesign of Town Center that creates a thriving, modern mixed-use district, where homes, shops, and workplaces share buildings and city blocks. This is an important part of meeting Wilsonville’s housing needs.

Mixed-use development

Public parking facilities can support existing businesses and future growth while keeping Town Center convenient and accessible.

Parking that works

Separated cycle tracks can create safer connections through Town Center and link the area to Wilsonville’s larger bicycle and trail network.

What Neighbors Are Saying

“As Wilsonville residents for 21 years, we are strong supporters of Wilsonville’s Town Center plan, especially as it’s evolved in response to citizen input.

Arguments in opposition miss one essential point: We as voters have a unique opportunity to choose the city we want, not have the future thrust upon us by outside interests.”

— Eric & Shirley Hoem

“Wilsonville doesn’t need to become a big city. We just need the kind of Main Street that communities much smaller than ours already have.

We shouldn’t have to leave Wilsonville to find the restaurants, hangout spots, and experiences we want. We can create those opportunities here, while supporting the businesses and community we already call home.”

— Kristin Akervall

“Small local businesses invest in our community because they are a part of our community. They rely on their neighbors for business, and their neighbors trust them to do good work. Voting YES on 3-641 means more small local businesses right in the heart of town that will bring private investment into our community.”

— Rick Wallace, Local Business Owner

For years, cool grocery stores, distinctive shops, appealing restaurants, and vibrant gathering places have bypassed Wilsonville. Why? Because our sprawling, underused parking lots and aged, outdated strip malls are unappealing to developers seeking an active downtown core. Wilsonville deserves better. Existing businesses in Town Center can benefit from the increased foot traffic that an active Town Center can bring.
